Golden Globe-Nominierungen: «The Post», «The Shape of Water» und «Big Little Lies» überzeugen
Die Golden Globe-Nominierungen sind das vorweihnachtliche Zeichen, dass die Award Season in vollem Gange ist. Die diesjährigen Kandidaten wurden heute Nachmittag im Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills vor den Medien bekanntgegeben. «The Shape of Water», «The Post» und die HBO-Miniserie «Big Little Lies» haben dabei wie erwartet die meisten Nominierungen erhalten, überraschend sind Nominierungen für «All the Money in the World» und die TV-Serie «The Sinner».
Die HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association), die die goldenen Weltkugeln verleiht, tut dies, im Gegensatz zur Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars) sowohl in TV- wie auch in Film-Kategorien. Die diesjährigen Kandidaten wurden heute Nachmittag von Alfre Woodard («Luke Cage»), Garrett Hedlund («Mudbound»), Kristen Bell («The Good Place») und Sharon Stone («Mosaic») bekanntgegeben.
Im Vorfeld wurden «Dunkirk», «The Shape of Water», «Call Me by Your Name» und «The Post» als grosse Favoriten gehandelt. Bei den Komödie/Musical-Kategorien «Get Out», «Lady Bird» und «The Big Sick». In den TV-Kategorien galten «The Handmaid’s Tale», «Big Little Lies» und «Feud: Bette and Joan» als in der Pole-Position.
Beide für einen Golden Globe nominiert: Timothée Chalamet (links) und Armie Hammer in «Call Me by Your Name».
Wie erwartet haben in den Drama-Kategorien «The Shape of Water» (7 Nominierungen), «The Post» (6 Nominierungen), «Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri» (6 Nominierungen) überzeugt. Ebenfalls im Rennen um den Hauptpreis in der Drama-Kategorie sind «Call Me by Your Name» und «Dunkirk». Bei den Komödien streiten «Get Out», «Lady Bird», «The Disaster Artist», «The Greatest Showman» und «I, Tonya» um die Krone.
Überraschend kommen die Nominierungen für «All the Money in the World», inklusive einer für Christopher Plummer, der im Zuge der Missbrauchsskandale kurzfristig die Rolle von Kevin Spacey übernommen hatte. Ein klares Zeichen, das Hollywood hier setzen will, wurde doch auch «House of Cards» zum ersten Mal komplett ignoriert, ebenso Jeffrey Tambor für seine Rolle als Maura Pfefferman in «Transparent». Überraschend geehrt wurden Ansel Elgort («Baby Driver»), Hong Chau («Downsizing»), Helen Mirren («The Leisure Seeker») und Denzel Washington («Roman J. Israel, Esq.»).
Die Überraschung: «All the Money in the World» mit drei Nominierungen, inklusive einer für Christopher Plummer.
In den verschiedenen TV-Kategorien vermochten «Big Littles Lies», «Feud: Bette and Joan», «The Handmaid’s Tale», «Stranger Things» und «This is Us» die HFPA überzeugen. Überraschend gut abgeschnitten haben das «Will & Grace»-Revival, «SMILF», «The Sinner» und «The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.»
